Silver print. Type caption and stamp of Underwood & Underwood on reverse. Caption reads: "The very unsual dress shown above is a very good example of the art of Poiret of Paris in introducing the unique into womens clothes which he does with such a touch og artistry that they become not only smart but decidedly distinctive. The tight fitting beodice in this instance is made of Radio figured matelasse in combination of black, gray and silver. The sleeves are of satin-surfaced gray velour and are edgedin a wide band of black satin. The chied charm of the garment, however, (as in all Poiret models this season) lies in the shpae of the skirt, which is cut in one piece in penant shape and wrapped arounf the figure, the edges forming a spiral frill from waist to hemline".
