La légende de la photographie indique:
"Chicago. Christian Dior, French stylist reputedly responsible for the "new-look" in women's skirts, is picketed by members of Chicago's "A Little Below the Knee" club as he enters a hotel here for a luncheon with leaders of Chicago's style industry. The club was willing to go "part way down", but not in the middle of the calf, with Mr. Dior. With him at left, is Miss Cathleen Catlin, Chicago stylist. Pickets, left to right are Marjorie Weber and Pearl Tietz."
Né en 1905, Christian Dior qui fit ses classes chez Lucien Lelong, ouvrit sa propre maison en 1947 avec l'aide de Cristobal Balenciaga.
